I’m engaged! Easiest question I’ve ever had to answer. He sang David Bowie’s “Be My Wife” while some friends played back-up instrumentals. It was more public than I expected, which was exciting/nerve-racking, but I think some time this week we’re going to drive out somewhere scenic and just share a private moment (maybe I’ll take the opportunity to propose to him!). Our moms and closest friends were also there to surprise me. What a weekend! Plus, we were able to somewhat sidestep the humanitarian/environmental issues with gemstone mining and manufacturing, something I felt really strongly about, by using recycled (heirloom) stones, which also saved $$. Whew!
